My boys recently started training at Gracie Barra North Phoenix, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From day one, the instructors have been welcoming, patient, and incredibly positive with the kids. The classes do a great job of teaching not only jiu-jitsu techniques, but also discipline, respect, confidence, and perseverance. What stands out most is the family atmosphere. The coaches genuinely care about each student's development and make every child feel included and supported. My boys look forward to every class, and we've already seen growth in both their confidence and focus. The facility is clean, professional, and well organized, and the instruction is top-notch. Walking in here in February of this year was the best thing ive done for my physical and mental health in years. Please if you are considering going just show up! You can be literally ANY age its totally normal for people to walk in with no experience in their 20s 30s 40s 50s and yes even 60s. And women you are more than welcome! There are a few of us in basically every class and right now my Tuesday / Thursday Fundamentals evening class has been all women! I genuinely would be delighted for a newbie to come in because they saw this review! Please let me know if you do ill be there 😉

Hello, I am an Air Force lady veteran taking the Women's Self Defense class 💪. Great family environment - will be returning, had so much fun learning the skills I need to keep safe- especially around Phoenix! Service Dog 🐕‍🦺 friendly - but my boy will be staying home next session because he doesn't like mom headlock sparing 💪plus then my full concentration will be on the mats. This review has been long overdue since I have been cross-training at GB North Phoenix for a few months now and I strongly suggest training here. When I first entered the gym, Professor Jow-Jow welcomed me with open arms. As a white belt, it was a little intimidating to cross-train to a different BJJ gym and not know anyone. But truthfully it felt like I was in my Gracie Barra home/main gym. The classes I go to are the afternoon classes which is for “all levels-beginners;” unlike the evening classes that focus on fundamentals. The classes are fantastics! They are very informative, focusing on the ‘why’ behind every transition and submission rather than just going through the motions. Professor Jow-Jow and Professor Daniel don’t just teach moves; they explain the logic behind them. I believe they have a way of breaking down complex BJJ sequences that makes everything click, regardless of the student's belt level! I enjoy training in this gym, that when I am in the area, I will make every ditch effort to attend a class! Plus, the recently renovated facility is beautiful—it has a 'homely' coffee shop vibe! All is missing is the coffee… LOL! Truthfully, I highly recommend training in Gracie Barra North Phoenix. I have no negative opinions about them!

My daughter had been going here for a good couple months and she is loving it. I love that they teach them about respect and disciplined. She is not only learning that but leaning how to protect herself. Highly recommend
